Download preconfigured Flex Builder projects

Note: The current release is Flex 4. The projects downloaded from this page are for Flex 3. To get started with Flex 4 and Flash Builder 4 (formerly known as Flex Builder), see the Getting Started page on the Flex Developer Center.

This page contains links to ZIP files that contain pre-configured, importable Flex Builder projects for each of the Flex 3 Getting Started Experience modules.

To use these ZIP files:

  1. Download the ZIP file to your computer.
  2. Open Flex Builder.
  3. Select File > Import > Flex Project from the menu bar (File > Import > Flex > Import Project in the Eclipse plugin version).
  4. Navigate to the ZIP file you just downloaded and click Open.
  5. Select Finish.

Flex Builder imports the ZIP file and creates a Flex Project. The projects are ready to run; the applications that retrieve data from a server are configured to access examples.adobe.com and selected partner sites.

Tip: When you click one of these links, select Save (not Open), save the file on your workstation, and import the project into Flex Builder, as described above.

You can barely make out the links on this page. There needs to be a distinquishing feature that makes the links stand out. As passe as it may seem, underlines get you there faster. How many users give up because they can't find what they want? I am, at this moment, running two computers, 6 different websites, a flex 3 program, email programs, and I have to take time to figure out where the links are...make it easy to find.

I think the links are distinguishable. I had no problems finding relevant ZIP files.

Great samples! They are very helpful. It will be great if there is one link to download all and unzip it to get the 9 samples rather than 9 downloads and 9 unzips.

Does any one know the correct HTTPService URL link for the jsp version? The one that is provided does not work. I am getting an HTTP Error. This is for the Exchange of Data tutorial.

The link in the article for httpservice is working fine.

I think the blue links are fine (maybe a little more contrast).

More important: I wish all the projects were also available as one big archive file. And... that I could import an entire directory of projects.

I agree with the color contrast comment for the blue links (in that they are hard to distinguish) but I think it might be the respective browser.  At any rate, one can simply read or hover over with the mouse to determine if something is a link (I had no trouble).

I have to agree with Troy. It took me awhile to find the links. Once I found them then yes I could see them, if I concentrate.
Do your readers a favor and change the links.  They really are bad.

I have to agree that the links are hard to see.  The reason the links are hard to see for some people is due to there degree of color blindness.  I'm partially color blind and I find the blue links hard to distinguish from the the black text on the page

For those having issues with the color contrast and seeing the links you might consider a download manager like Orbit, DAP, or Free Download Manager.  Helpful tool to have even beyond this page.

It's still a far behind Visual Studio 08 or even 05...

I had no problem finding the links.  Contrast was fine on my screen.  Those that had problems, were you using an LCD screen or a CRT?

Comment: Posted by Daryl Lackey at Feb 17, 2010 06:16

If you can't find these links, you should consider another profession. Has nothing to do with "color blindness", come on. When your cursor changes, you're on a link. All the amazing things that Adobe puts out, and all the resources they provide for people to learn, and you are complaining about a rollover effect? That's just embarrassing.

Great getting started links, and great resources.
Wish you had more info on integrating BlazeDS. Looking forward to FlashBuilder and the new Flash features though.

Thanks Abode!

Actually calling Adobe 'Abode' is the only embarrassing thing here...
