Anita's home page

Welcome.

I'm the documentation writer for Adobe Photoshop Lightroom, Adobe Camera Raw, and Adobe Bridge. I'm very excited about this wiki because Lightroom has such a vibrant and active community, which is especially gratifying for such a young product. We hope that this wiki will provide an abundance of learning content for Lightroom users--our core Adobe content plus links to video tutorials, book excerpts, white papers, and more. Please make this site your own: add content, rate it, discuss it. We hope to serve as the hub for your Lightroom learning experience.

We want to hear how this wiki works for you. Email me with your suggestions and ideas: lightroom-help-feedback@adobe.com.

Of course, you're on my favorite Lightroom site, www.learn.adobe.com/display/LR/home, but some of my other favorite Lightroom sites are:

O'Reilly's Inside Lightroom blog serves up short pieces from professional phototgraphers who share their own experiences with the app. Michael Clark, for example, documented his experiment in maxing out the Lightroom catalog here. James Duncan Davidson espoused on industry acceptance of Lightroom vs. Aperture. Mikkel Aaland answers questions that arise when he teaches Lightroom. There's a nice variety of content here, all from experts.

Lightroom Killer Tips I don't know how he keeps finding them, but Matt Kloskowski is champion at posting great Lightroom productivity tips. A new tip every Friday, and new presets every Monday.

Lightroom on Flickr Flickr is not my favorite place to share photos, but this group includes lots of very helpful, knowledgable, and nice users share tips and troubleshooting techniques.

To learn about the craft of photography and inspiration, I visit these websites:

The Daily Critique at The Radiant Vista, Craig Tanner's site, is elegant and educational. The daily video critiques have taught me much about image composition, and because he shares photos from beginner, intermediate, and advanced photographers, there's a wide variety of lessons to be learned here.

I wish I'd read this article - How to Photograph a Rainbow - before my recent trip to Kauai, where I photographed two rainbows: One photo was a complete bust and the other came out gorgeous. Oh, and the same site - Digital Photography School - has some great shots of lightning that are stunning and lots of useful articles for amateurs like me, such as travel photography tips and how to photograph flowers.

The Strobist offers excellent essays on lighting - a whole series of them. Click Lighting 101 for the current article and links to past articles as well.

Dooce OK, so this blog isn't strictly about photography, and Heather Armstrong doesn't use Lightroom, but she does use Photoshop. In fact, she documents her "Dooce Effect" on the site. I like her writing, as well as her photography of everyday objects and yes, her dog with all those goofy objects on his head.

I find the black-and-white photography of Julie Blackmon to be quite beautiful.

Here are some of my recent shots, all managed and developed in Lightroom.
