About me
A cherished picture that my mother made of me and my first camera, shows me taking pictures of sunflowers in France. I am amazed at how she got such a narrow depth of field with her little (Konica?) viewfinder camera. A later completely accidental self portrait that my camera took on a frosty morning in Canyonlands NP, Utah while I was changing lenses (right hand side if you didn't guess already) shows that I still look pretty much the same after a few decades:

I really learned photography later from my dad using his amazing (for the time) Nikon SLR camera and spend many an hour in the darkroom. There is nothing quite like pulling the strip of film out of the developing tank and seeing the potential images.
In the present day, I am a semiprofessional (if there is such a thing) photographer living in the Denver area. I shoot weddings and I do landscape and other photography both for art and fun. My other passion (besides my family) is science and I work at the US's premier national Laboratory for renewable energy research.
