Create in new ways with generative AI powered by Adobe Firefly

Generative AI is a type of artificial intelligence that enhances creativity by producing amazing results from simple text prompts. We want you to play, experiment, dream, and create the extraordinary using the new Adobe Firefly generative AI technology in our apps.

Note:

Starting January 17, 2024, we will begin enforcing generative credit limits on select plans, including but not limited to Adobe Firefly. Your plan-specific information will be available on your Adobe account management page, where you can review your generative credit allocation, usage, and experience when you exhaust your generative credits. Check back here after May 1, 2024, to learn when credit limits will apply to other plan types.

Generative AI features powered by Firefly are now available in our core creative tools and the standalone Firefly web app. We’re starting with images, text effects, and vectors, with Generative Fill and Generative Expand in Adobe Photoshop, Text to Image in Adobe Firefly, Generative Recolor in Adobe Illustrator, Text Effects in Adobe Express, and more. Next, we plan to bring generative AI powered by Firefly to 3D, animation, and video.

Since generating content with AI models requires significant computational resources, we have updated our plans to include a monthly allocation of “generative credits.” Learn about the amount of credits allocated for each plan at https://helpx.adobe.com/firefly/using/generative-credits-faq.html#commercial-use.

Generative credits

Generative credits allow the use of generative AI features powered by Firefly in the applications to which you are entitled. The consumption of generative credits depends on the generated output's computational cost and the value of the generative AI feature used. Learn about when the credits renew at https://helpx.adobe.com/firefly/using/generative-credits-faq.html#credits-renew.

Examples of actions where you are debited generative credits:

  • Select Generate in Generative Fill
  • Select Load more or Refresh in Text to Image

Use Generative Recolor in Adobe Illustrator.

Use Text Effects in Adobe Express.

Examples of when you're not debited generative credits:

  • Using generative AI features defined in the rate table as "0.”
  • Selecting View in the Firefly community (https://firefly.adobe.com/community) since opening the art isn't a new generation. However, you'll be debited generative credits if you select Refresh, which requires a new generation.

*Outputs from beta features can be used commercially unless otherwise designated in the product or elsewhere, but they aren't eligible for indemnification while in beta.

The credit consumption rates are for standard images of up to 2000 x 2000 pixels. To receive the above-listed consumption rates, you must use the latest version of the software. Adobe Firefly is evolving rapidly. The rate card will be updated as we add more features and services. Usage rates may vary. Plans are subject to change.

Selecting an action such as Generate, Load More, or Refresh can generate multiple results. However, credit consumption isn't determined by the number of generated results but rather by how many times you select an action. For example, selecting Generate in Generative Fill debits only 1 credit.

We plan to offer higher-resolution images, animation, video, and 3D generative AI features in the future. The number of generative credits consumed for those features may be greater.
